My cell phone, which I bought in december, broke about two weeks ago. They sent me a replacement, but no one could hear me when I called from it, so I called to complain. They sent me another replacement, which arrived today, and it's completely fucked up--it didn't want to power on, whenever I press a button there is a delay and the screen blinks. Urggg!!!!!! I swear when my contract ends I'm going to a different company. I'm tempted to just go buy a new cell phone so I don't have to go through this crap.
Update: I called again demanding that I get a brand new phone, not a refurbished one, and that I go to the store and get it myself because I'm going out of town tonight and can't wait until they send me one. Of course they came up with a bunch of excuses "we cannot assure you that it will be a new phone, but it;ll be a working phone" uh-huh, that's what they said last time, and "we have no connections with the Cingular store so they can't give you a phone for free.
...So I called the account cancellation line. "We're sorry to hear that you want to cancel your service. Is there any reason why you're unhappy with Cingular?" Umm...yes. I told them the problem. So suddenly it turns out that there's a rule that if you are sent 2 replacement phones that don't work you can get a new one... and usually they have to send it...but since i need it today theyll make an exception and call the store so I can pick it up there. It's amusing how accommodating they can get when they don't want to lose money.
