"Tell him how you feel. What do you have to lose?"

Draco didn't look at Pansy as she spoke. Instead his eyes flitted from Potter's lips to rest on his hands, specifically his right hand, which had pulled Draco from the Fiendfyre eight months ago. That was one of many interactions between the two of them that he needed to believe were fueled by something deeper on Harry's part. What else would give him hope when he thought he wasn't worth anything to anyone but his parents? The truth, bitter as it probably was, could destroy him.

"Everything," he said.
