Draco sighed and let his head fall back against the pillow as Harry's mouth began to assault his neck in earnest. They'd fooled around like this on many occasions, snogging and rubbing up against each other until they came or one of them decided to stop and suck the other off. But those times had been different. Draco hadn't been nervous because he'd done all those things before. He'd done more, too, but not in the same way he expected it would happen with Harry.

It was time to take that next step. They hadn't talked about it—they weren't sappy, lovesick fools—but Draco felt it in Harry's touch, in the fervour and desperation of his kisses. And the feeling was mutual.

Draco's heart began to hammer wildly against his chest as the heat rose in his body. Any moment now, Harry would want to go further. Draco wanted it as well, more than anything, but his growing anxiety was making it difficult to enjoy himself to the fullest.

Suddenly, Harry stopped kissing him and pulled away. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing," Draco said. "I'm just a little nervous."

"Are you telling me you're scared, Draco?"

Draco ignored the question and the stupid grin that accompanied it. Harry must have taken that as an affirmative response because he laughed, which made Draco want to shove him away. Their relationship was still highly volatile at times. It was difficult for Draco to open up to Harry, so any undesirable reaction—such as amusement—that he got when he did choose to show his vulnerable side was certain to get under his skin.

When Draco pushed angrily at Harry's chest, Harry grabbed his wrists and pinned them to the mattress. He wasn't laughing anymore when he looked into Draco's eyes; his expression was thoughtful. "After all you've been through, this is scary?"

"Yes," Draco said. It did seem silly to be afraid of something like taking a cock up is arse after his experiences during the war, but that didn't change how he felt about it.

The few seconds of silence that followed were broken by a low, "Do you want to be on top?"

The question surprised Draco. It was something he had never considered before. He had always been dominant in bed with other blokes, but with Harry, he'd just assumed that he would have to submit. Why that was, he couldn't begin to comprehend. There were many aspects of his relationship with Harry continued to baffle him.

Harry looked adorable chewing on is lower lip as he waited for a response. After a moment's thought, Draco shook his head. He wanted Harry on top of him, inside him, all over him.

Warm breath caressed Draco's skin as their lips brushed. "I'll be careful, I promise," Harry said.

Draco appreciated the choice of words. Gentle would have made him feel like Harry thought he was fragile and weak. Careful meant that Harry acknowledged the need to control his own brutish tendencies.

"Okay," Draco said, and he pulled Harry into a kiss. Like a sappy, lovesick fool.
