Sometimes, the word cock pops up far too often during a sex scene. I'm just wondering... which words do you guys think are acceptable substitutes and are there any that annoy the crap out of you? Personally, I don't like any of them, and although I'm forced to substitute it with terms like 'flesh' 'column' or 'prick' for variety, there's nothing quite like cock... no?

I'm also wondering, what do you guys think of an author switching points of view between the characters during sex? I used to do that when i started out writing LOTR slash, but I heard later that it isn't good to switch pov within a scene... but is it just me, or does the smut seem to be lacking when it's told only from one participant's pov? Perhaps the no switching pov rule should be disregarded when it comes to smut?
