Apr. 20th, 2006 07:06 amSo I got this review for HP and the Lost Grimiore on another site:
Now, how many chapters do you have mapped out for this story? Will Harry and Draco's adventure begin soon, or will we have to live through their first month at school?
...and now I'm totally heartbroken. Do you guys think the plot is moving along too slowly? This is meant to be a long fic. ANd as far as can tell, the plot really didn't move along much in the first chapters of JKR's books either. I've never written anything this long, so I don't know... and a review like this worries me. I was happy with how the story was developing...
As you probably know, last chapter took place on sat. and on Sunday Harry's meeting Remus, so next chapter we'll find out something I don't have the chapters mapped out for this story, I always have the story in my head and write it as I go along.
I appreciate getting reviews other than 'OMG this fic is great, I love you' (not that I don't love those as well :D ). I take writing seriously and want to hear what people like about it and what I need to improve. But does this reviewer have a point, or is she expecting a 10 chapter fic? Maybe she just doesn't like the story and that's why it seems to be taking too long to unfold. Personally I think it's better for things to unfold this way than to just throw them into an adventure...
I haven't answered the review yet, because I know that if I do it right away, I'll end up telling her off, and that's not what I want to do.
What do you guys think about HP and the Lost Grimiore so far? Please, be honest.
