1. What did you do in 2011 that you'd never done before?
Colored my hair black.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Haha, I always make the same resolution: work out and eat healthy. I've been partially successful at keeping it in 2011. Definitely need to be more consistent this year, though.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yes, my cousin's girlfriend had a baby a few days before Christmas.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Thankfully, no.

5. What countries did you visit?
None. :(

6. What would you like to have in 2012 that you lacked in 2011?
A boyfriend and a career/job that I'm excited about. And a more toned body.

7. What dates from 2011 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Um, none? Nothing out of the ordinary happened this year, and I'm not good with dates anyway.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
I don't know if it's really an achievement, as it was mostly spontaneous, but my psychic abilities have improved beyond belief. I now actually have clairvoyant and clairaudient experiences, in addition to the prophetic dreams I've had for years.

9. What was your biggest failure?
That thing that happened on here in February/March. Enough said.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Nothing aside from my lifelong battle with depression.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
Boots! I love, love, love boots.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Yours! I can't believe those of you who are still here after what happened this spring, are still here. Thank you!

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
I wouldn't say appalled and depressed, but I was disappointed when my sister didn't go to college in the fall, when she'd been accepted into the honors program at U of I. She's changed her mind and will be attending this upcoming semester, though. :)

14. Where did most of your money go?
Starbucks.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
The prospect of meeting Tom Felton when he was at a theatre only a few miles from my house. Unfortunately, we didn't make it in before he had to leave.

16. What song will always remind you of 2011?
Good life by One Republic. It's not the type of music I usually enjoy, but that song captures the same feeling I get whenever I'm outdoors at night and the stars are out and I get the feeling that life is beautiful and everything's going to be okay.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder? Happier.
b) thinner or fatter? About the same.
c) richer or poorer? Poorer.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Writing and going out with friends.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
(In the beginning of the year), spending all my time on LJ and obsessing about everything that isn't right in fandom.

20. How did you spend Christmas?
With my family, as usual. I wouldn't have it any other way.

21. What was your favorite month of 2011?
Hmm, it would have to be August because that's when I went one of the best vacations I've ever been on.

22. Did you fall in love in 2011?
Do celebrities count?

23. How many one-night stands?
None. I've only ever had one one-afternoon stand. It's really not my thing.

24. What was your favorite TV program?
Gossip Girl.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
I try not to waste my time hating people.

26. What was the best book you read?
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Katy Perry. I've liked her before this year, but not to the extent I do now.

28. What did you want and get?
Jewelry from Tiffany.

29. What did you want and not get?
Chanel's Chance Eau Fraiche.

30. What was your favorite film of this year?
Thor!

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I was in Florida and spent the morning at the beach, the afternoon at the spa, and the evening drinking. I turned 28.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
A feeling of success and fulfillment. Also, love.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2011?
Hot boots are hot.

34. What kept you sane?
*laughs* After I had my mental breakdown this spring, I read a lot of motivational self-help and new age books that have really changed my outlook on life. I'm now a much happier and more hopeful (and positive) person.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Tom Hiddleston is my latest obsession, but I think Hayden Christensen will always be my true celebrity love.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
That my country keeps sticking its nose in the Middle East. Stop. Just, stop. Let them be.

37. Who did you miss?
[livejournal.com profile] nursedarry I'm glad we're partners in crime again. :D

38. Who was the best new person you met?
Um, not met, but I started talking to some people at work that I didn't talk to much before and found out they're pretty cool.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2011.
If that which you seek, you find not within yourself, you will never find it without.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
"Sometimes I get a good feeling, I get a feeling that I never, never, never never had before no, no. I get a good feeling, yeah."

41. Which TV shows did you let go of in 2011?
Bones. I still watch it occasionally, but I got bored of watching it every week.

42. Which TV shows did you mean to get into but didn't in 2011? Why?
Once Upon a Time. I love fairy tales, so I thought this show was going to be a dream come true, but it just didn't do anything for me.

43. Which TV shows do you intend on checking out in 2012?
I don't know what's coming out. Any recommendations?

44. Which TV show impressed you least in 2011?
Again, Once Upon a Time.

45. Which TV show do you think you might let go of in 2012 unless things significantly improve?
IDK, I only watch a few shows now that I don't see myself letting go of.

46. Which TV show impressed you the most in 2011? Why?
Gossip Girl. I was starting to get bored of it, and thought I'd stop watching this year, but it totally won me back.

47. Which TV shows do you think you'll never let go of no matter how crappy they get? Why?
Merlin, because BRADLEY JAMES.

I so love this meme, I learn all kinds of cool things about my flist :). I'd like to advise you to combine your wish for love with the valuable life lesson you've learned last year ;). Love yourself, be happy with who you are and what you do, it's only then that love will find its way to you ;). Or you know, you can just ignore me completely, 'cause unasked for advise is sometimes very unwanted.
*hugs*
