“Today’s my birthday,” Draco muttered quietly, as if he didn’t expect Harry to pay him any heed.

“Hary felt sorry for the blond whom he was beginning to like more than was good for him. Draco was probably used to being spoiled rotten on his birthday; but now that he was in hiding, his parents gone, no one-- except Harry-- knew or cared.

“Well, happy birthday,” Harry said. “There isn’t much I can give you right now… except this.” He took Draco’s face in between his hands and kissed him softly.

Draco smiled. “I couldn’t ask for a better gift.”
