Summary: Draco's been keeping a secret, but he can't hide the truth forever.
A/N: To make this plotline work, I had to change Scorpius’ age. He’s in the same year as James (and older than him). And Draco does not have a receding hairline!
Scorpius started at the feeling of hands grasping his shoulders. He had been so engrossed in Ancient Egyptian Potions that he hadn’t heard anyone enter the Malfoy family library where he had been pouring over fascinating books for, well, he wasn’t sure how long.
“What are you doing here?” said James, oblivious of the fact that he had almost given his boyfriend a heart attack.
“I couldn’t sleep.”
Scorpius felt goose bumps forming on his skin as James nuzzled his neck. “You’re lying,” James tugged Scorpius’ earlobe with his teeth.
“Why would you think that?” Scorpius feigned innocence. In truth, he had waited until James had fallen asleep so that he could sneak out to the library. His boyfriend had come to spend a few weeks at the Malfoy Manor, and they’d been having a lot ofsex fun, but Scorpius had never gone this long without his books!
“Mmm— because I know of better ways to wear you out than reading.”
“Oh yeah?” Scorpius tried to keep his breath steady, but it was so difficult because James’ tongue was drawing patterns on his neck.
A hand reached out to cup his growing erection; Scorpius covered it with his own, pressing it down as he thrust upward. A wicked idea crossed his mind.
“You wanna do it here?”
“You’re insatiable.” James nibbled on the delicate skin of Scorpius’ neck. “What if your father decides to come in?”
“Don’t be silly. He always goes to sleep early—no exceptions. Not since mother—“ Scorpius stopped himself before he could ruin the mood with sad memories. And then James’ lips covered his own and he had no other thought in the world than how lucky he was to feel so loved. He slipped his fingers into the mass of untidy black hair and pulled James closer, happily succumbing to the onslaught of that demanding tongue.
Scorpius gasped when they broke the kiss.
“You want me to fuck you right here?” James patted the heavy wooden table. “On top off all your books?”
Scorpius’ felt the blood rushing to his cock. He barely moaned his agreement before he found himself pulled up from the chair and bent over the table. James pulled off his pants and squeezed his buttocks with both hands. “So beautiful.”
He pushed up Scorpius’ shirt and laid soft kisses on the small of his back.
“Please…” said Scorpius huskily. “I need you inside me.”
“Which part of me?”
Scorpius’ stomach fluttered. He’d never had a rim job before, and he really wanted one now, but his throat tightened and he couldn’t bring himself to say it out loud. James’ hands were massaging his globes and his mouth was getting dangerously close to his crack.
“Hmm?” James insisted.
Prat Scorpius thought. “Your tongue,” he said, feeling his face burn.
James spread Scorpius’ cheeks slightly and prodded his entrance with his tongue.
“Merlin…” Scorpius gasped. James’ tongue was wet and it was making him painfully aware of his cock, hard and swollen and trapped between his body and the table. Then that tongue pushed past his sphincter and he couldn’t help but to grab his leaking cock and tug. “I love you, James,” he said. “I love you so much.”
*****
Draco couldn’t sleep. He’d been tossing and turning for over two hours, which was unusual because he usually had no trouble falling asleep. He always looked forward to bedtime because it was an escape from his depressing life. But it obviously wasn’t working tonight. Not a fan of sleeping draughts—he hated the bitter taste—Draco decided to go find something boring to read. That ought to put him to sleep. He lit a lantern, put on his slippers and headed off toward the library.
As he passed Scorpius’ bedroom, Draco wondered if his son was sleeping. It was pretty late, so he figured he might be, but it didn’t matter anyway because Scorpius had company. Draco hated himself for resenting his son’s friendship with James Potter—it had always been difficult for Scorpius to make friends—but he was the only one whose company Draco enjoyed, and now he was constantly with James. It seemed like he never got to spend time with his son anymore.
Draco sighed and turned the knob to enter the library. Then his lantern dropped to the floor with a clank. What he saw behind the door came as a devastating shock. His son was sprawled facedown on the table, his shirt pushed up and his pants pulled down. James’ face was buried between his legs, only his forehead and black hair visible. When he entered, they jumped apart, Scorpius struggling to put his pants on as quickly as possible.
“Dad, I—“ Scorpius tried to explain, but his face turned an even brighter shade of red and he looked away. James was flushed, too, and staring at the floor.
“Excuse me,” said Draco when he finally recovered, and he quickly picked up his partially shattered lantern and all but ran back toward his bedroom.
*****
“Well that was embarrassing,” said James, nervously running a hand through his hair.
“Yeah.”
“How do you think he'll take it?”
Scorpius thought for a moment. “I don’t know. But I’m surprised he freaked out like that.”
“Well what did you expect?” said James. “He just saw his son getting his arse licked.”
Scorpius cringed at the thought. “How am I ever going to face him again?”
“We’ll all get over it eventually.” James wrapped his arms around Scorpius’ waist and pulled him close.
Scorpius’ knees were still shaking and he hated the feeling. He leaned into his boyfriend’s embrace. James always made him feel safe and secure; he’d be lost without him. “You’ll stay with me, right? Whatever happens?”
James nuzzled his neck. “Always.”
*****
Harry,
Come to the Manor at once.
Draco Malfoy
It was probably the shortest note ever written, but it was all was necessary. He wouldn’t even know how to begin describing the situation in a letter, and because James was currently staying at the Manor, Draco knew Harry would rush over right away, no explanation needed.
Draco set his owl off into the darkness and made himself comfortable on the couch in his study while he waited. This could probably have waited until morning, but Draco had been keeping this secret inside for far too long. And after what he’d witnessed taking place between Scorpius and James in the library, he was at a complete loss at what to do. The one thing he knew was that he couldn’t ignore the problem and hope it would go away.
Draco had instructed Sparky the house-elf to wait for Harry so that the doorbell wouldn’t alert their sons of his arrival. This conversation needed to be private.
As Draco had expected, Potter arrived within minutes. Sparky showed him into the study, and he rushed in so fast Draco was afraid he’d throttle him. “Where’s James? Is he okay?”
“Relax, Harry. Your son is perfectly fine.”
“Oh.” Harry sounded surprised. “Then why’d you ask me to come in the middle of the night?”
Draco would have smirked at the question, but he wasn’t in the mood. He’d lost his sense of humour long ago. “I don’t know where to begin…”
Harry looked expectantly at him, and Draco thought he might lose his nerve under that piercing green stare. “Would you like some tea? This might take a while…”
*****
Tea in hand, Harry and Draco sat on the leather couch in Draco’s study, casting nervous glances in one another’s direction. Harry shifted impatiently.
“Draco, it’s two o’clock in the morning. Surely this is something important?”
Draco sipped his steaming tea and nodded.
“Will you tell me what it is, then?”
Draco leaned back, looking like he wanted to couch to swallow him up. “Did you know that pureblood males can get pregnant?” he began cautiously.
Harry’s eyes widened. “No.”
“Well—they can. Only on the dark moon, though.”
“Okay—but why is that important? Is Scorpius—?”
Draco shook his head. “No. Actually, Scorpius isn’t a pureblood.”
“Right.” Harry said incredulously. “So what’s your point?”
Draco took a deep breath. Staring at his empty teacup, he said, quietly, “I was pregnant, Harry. Scorpius is our son.”
Harry wondered what Draco had put in the tea because surely he was hallucinating. The blond looked up nervously; he was biting his lip.
“What?” Harry asked. He had heard what Draco had said, but it was the only word that he could form right now.
“Scorpius is our son. I carried him.”
Harry laughed nervously. “You’re fucking with me, right?”
Draco looked down; his hands were trembling. Bloody hell, he’s not joking. Harry leaned over and took the cup and saucer from Draco, setting them down on the coffee table. Myriad emotions swept through him, but he couldn’t pin even one of them down. Anger? Betrayal? Love? He wanted to shake Draco, but instead he took the blond’s sweaty hands in his own.
“Why didn’t you ever tell me?”
Sad grey eyes, shiny with unshed tears, met his own. “I was afraid,” said Draco.
“Of what?”
“Of how you’d react. I was afraid you’d think I was some kind of freak, that you wouldn’t want anything to do with me… and our baby.”
Harry stared at the wall. In his portrait, Lucius was shaking his head and muttering something under his breath.
“Is that what you think of me?” said Harry, not caring that his voice was bitter.
“No—I mean—“ Draco sighed. “It’s just not that simple.”
Harry snorted. “So the best thing you could come up with was to walk out on me without a word of explanation and ruin any chance of—“
“Don’t lecture me, Harry. Do think it was easy for me? That I never regretted it?”
“I tried to reason with him,” Lucius’ portrait drawled. “I told him that the noble Harry Potter would never abandon his child.”
Harry sighed. “Does Scorpius know?”
“No.”
“Who else does?”
“My mother. The hous-elf. Father and Astoria knew as well.”
“I see.”
Draco poured himself some more tea; his hands weren’t shaking as much now. He sipped from his cup and shifted uncomfortably every now and then. “I haven’t told you everything,” he said.
“There’s more?” Harry asked, feigning enthusiasm.
“Tonight, I—I couldn’t sleep, so I went to the library to find something to read and—I walked in on Scorpius and James engaging in sexual activity.”
Harry jumped to his feet. “What!? What kind of sexual activity? Did you stop them? Where are they?”
“Calm down, Harry. Have a seat.”
“How can I calm down when my son—my sons—are committing in incest?” Harry started pacing back and forth. “Did you stop them? Did you tell them?”
“I didn’t need to stop them—they did that automatically when I walked in. And no I didn’t tell them. What was I supposed to say?”
“Um—how about letting them know that they’re half brothers?”
Draco let his head fall back and seemed to prey to the ceiling. “Do you really think they would have believed me?”
“So let’s tell them together.”
“They’re probably sleeping. And what if they’re in love? Do you think it’s the best idea to wake them up in the middle of the night and announce that they’re siblings?”
Harry plopped back down on the couch. Resting his elbow on his knee, he rubbed the bridge of his nose. When he’d received that note from Draco’s owl, he’d imagined a dozen of scenarios, not one of them remotely like this.
“Are you sure of what you saw?” Harry asked.
“Yes.”
“Okay. Then we need to tell them as soon as possible. If they’re in love, it will only hurt more the longer we allow the relationship to go on. Do you agree?”
Draco nodded miserably.
“You don’t look like you agree. What’s wrong?”
“I do agree,” said Draco. “It’s just that Scorpius has always had trouble making friends, what with the family name and all. What if James wants nothing to do with him after they find out? Scorpius will have no one—“
Harry took Draco’s hand again. “James isn’t like that. I’m sure he’ll still be a friend to Scorpius, even if it’s painful at first.”
“You think so?”
Harry nodded.
“So when do you think we should tell them?”
“Let’s give ourselves some time to mull it over,” said Harry. “I’ll owl you later this week.”
“Okay.”
Harry stood and walked to the door, then stopped and turned to look back at Draco. “It hurt, you know. When you left.”
Draco snorted. “You sure didn't waste any time moving on.”
Without another word, Harry showed himself out.

Date: 2008-09-25 02:35 pm (UTC)I just fail to see the problem of the incest in this story because neither James nor Scorpius are purebloods, so there's no danger of future mpreg and they weren't even raised as siblings so they won't feel as siblings.
But still... interesting

Date: 2008-09-25 03:38 pm (UTC)Ah, THAT'S the point, right? ;-)
I can see Harry just going "Noooooo, that's WRONG!" And perhaps Draco, too (but probably not as much because he's actually thinking - at least I hope so).
And the boys will say "Well, why not? There's no actual harm in it" (or at least one of them?) as I did. :-D
